What I learned chaperoning a middle school field trip

gross gifIf you ask a group of middle school girls if they need a bathroom break, be prepared for them to look at you as though you had radishes growing out of your nose. Be prepared to hide your smile three minutes later when one of them asks for permission to use the bathroom, and three others follow suit.

Want to see chaos? Just have a hundred middle school students drop their bagged lunches in bins near the front door as they enter the museum. Then at lunchtime, tell them all to grab it on the way outside to the park. Step back and watch the chaos begin.
